Ceaseless...

... MARKING TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After having slacked away my weekend (or 2/3 of my weekend because this weekend is long woohoo! :D) now I'm slapped in the face with 40odd essay scripts to mark by Thursday.

Considering I take about 30 minutes per script... that's TWENTY HOURS OF MY LIFE.

This week and I will probably turn out to have a love-hate relationship.

1) Long weekend

I managed to spend time with friends, family and... dog? Hmm.

But yes, happy mother's day. It's a stupid commercialised day but I'd be damned if I lied and said that I did not bake flourless (and failed) brownies for my mother today. Still, it's the thought that counts. I actually tinkled briefly with the idea of baking for my students before leaving. Except now I know that I shouldn't do it for sure.

Friday night was spent at Raffles City, then happy hour at Loof, then 24hour Macdonald's with awesome people (: As usual with all our outings - everyone comes at different times because everything is NOT PLANNED properly because we all can't really bring ourselves up to the level of Great Organisation.

So Cheryl and I met first, for dinner. "WHAT?! THERE'S ONLY TWO OF US?!"

Joined later by Xiangling. "WHAT?! THERE'S ONLY TWO OF YOU?!"

Joined later by Bryan and Yici (these two must arrive together). "WHAT?! WHERE'S THE GUYS?!"

And then finally joined much, much later by Tristan and Daryl (birthday boy!!!) while we were already at Loof.

Even though our planning reeeeeeeally sucks (we initially only had a Meeting Time and a Meeting Place - where only Cheryl and I were at that time), this outing just reinforces the fact that with good company (aka with us) and excellent spontaneity any night can and will turn out well!

Ahhh I'm so lazy to blog about the whole night so just go here for nice photos!!

Now, back to Reasons Why I'm Going To Love/Hate This Week:

2) Monday classes are canceled

I see three classes on Monday - so three lessons are canceled. The good news is that all my classes miss one lesson equally. The bad news is that they are taking their exam in two weeks and I REALLY REALLY REALLY cannot afford to miss any more lessons!

And other bad news. This week is full of competitions and SYF or whatever so many of the students aren't going to be around. In fact one class on Thursday is canceled because of school support for semis of a match?! Hello?! Academics, people!

(You would have to pay me to hear me say that in JC.)

3) Staff welfare/development... thingy

This week, the teaching staff are going to play sports and board games together.

I'm psyched.

4) Movie Marathon

Cheryl messaged me yesterday with two words, "Movie marathon!" and immediately a grin spread across my face. WHY HAVE WE NOT DONE THIS IN SUCH A LONG TIME?????

So confirmed:
Blackadder - covering parody/comedy (because Kristi/Cheryl insists)
The Prestige - covering drama and cool plot twists and Hot Guys (because Yici insists)
Popcorn - covering Tummy demands (because I insist)

All we need is a time and place and a few more movie titles and we're reading to rolllll (GET IT? GET IT? roll. as in, cameras rolling?????? hahahahahahha.).

... Okay I think I'm suffering from a chronic lack of sleep. Imma go get summa tha' now, yo.
